Saint-Girons. Day of musical discovery at the Maison de la Citoyenneté

This Sunday, May 5, the Couserans-Pyrénées music school and the guesthouse orchestra are joining forces once again to offer a day of musical discovery at the Maison de la Citoyenneté, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. “A construction in the sense that we want to offer young people and amateur musicians the opportunity to come and discover music workshops and also to be able to have access to a concert”, summarizes Isabelle Bagur, director of the music school and eminent member of the orchestra with his transverse flute.

An afternoon during which the orchestra and its colleagues will lead a series of workshops, before a concert. The discovery workshops will begin at 2 p.m., with first a one-hour rhythm workshop led by Eliot Saour, beat boxer, Régis Maurette, drum and percussion teacher at the music school, and Paamath , the singer with imaginary language.

Then, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., a collective practice and improvisation workshop will be led by Isabelle Bagur and Jean-Paul Raffit. Each participant will be invited to come with their instrument and give free rein to their creativity with the others. Depending on osmosis, a restitution concert could even be offered at the end of the day.

The highlight of the day will be the concert by the guesthouse orchestra at 6:30 p.m. “He will speak to our souls with Mburu.” A world blues, in the company of Jean-Paul Raffit (guitar), Isabelle Bagur (flute) and Eliot Saour (beat box), around Paamath who will take the audience from the confines of the Pyrenees to Africa through riffs of guitar and an imaginary language.

A free day of musical discovery open to all, especially young people, even beginners, which can accommodate up to thirty musicians.
