A statue of naked Donald Trump hanging from a crane angers Nevada Republicans
UNITED STATES – It’s size that changes everything. A huge statue of Donald Trump has been erected not far from Las Vegas, in the US state of Nevada. With a particularity, the Republican candidate for the presidential election next November is depicted in the simplest form. The structure was attached by the neck to a crane, giving the impression that the tycoon is ” hanged ».
The mystery remains as to the identity of the artists or activists behind this work that appeared over the weekend on the side of the highway linking Nevada and Utah. The celebrity media TMZ simply states that it measures nearly 13 meters and weighs 2.5 tonnes, and would be made mainly of foam.

According to comments relayed by the local channel Fox News Utah and the magazine The Wrapthe creators of the work wanted to challenge American voters and invite them to think before the November 5 election. This statue, called “ Crooked and Obscene ” (either ” corrupt and obscene » in French) should be moved and go on tour to other states.
Still, the message conveyed by the work does not please Nevada Republicans. In a press release the local branch of the party described the statue as “ deplorable ». « When families drive through Las Vegas, they are forced to see this offensive puppet, intentionally designed to provoke shock rather than constructive dialogue », deplores the text. This is not the first time that Donald Trump has inspired this type of work. In 2016, the INDECLINE collective requested the artist Joshua « Ginger » Monroe to create five life-size, nude statues of the former president in a project titled “The emperor has no balls”. Sic.
