Every year, this unmissable event highlights this emblematic fruit of the Mediterranean basin and invites you to discover the secrets of its production. In the heart of the Château de Turenne Park, passionate producers and talented artisans you will taste their fruity olive oils, their crunchy table olives and other gourmet products.
The youngest will not be left out with fun and educational activities (mini-farm, duck fishing, show, etc.), while adults can attend olive tree pruning and grafting demonstrations. A unique opportunity to discover this taste and cultural heritage!
The progress of this event in the presence of the knights of the Brotherhood of the Olivier:
- 10 a.m.: opening of the olive market with fanfare
- 10:30 a.m.: parade of the Knights of the Olive brotherhood to the sound of the Cournonterral easel
- 10:45 a.m.: “Oléa” children’s show with storyteller Mathilde de Lapeyre in the castle cellars
- 11:30 a.m.: inauguration
- 12 p.m.: induction of the new Knights of the Olive Tree
- 12:30 p.m.: reception
- 2:30 p.m.: presentation of the history of the olive tree by the brotherhood of the Knights of the Olive Tree
- 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.: grafting workshop by Mr. Frasquet (Brotherhood of the Knights of the Olive Tree)
Please note that the Montpellier tourist office will offer a guided tour of Pignan from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. (reservation required on montpellier-tourisme.fr).
