For West France, Matthew Valbuenawho passed through the Girondins de Bordeaux training center and was not retained at the end of his course, was questioned about the situation of the Club at the Scapular. The winger, who plays in Greece at the age of 40, says he is saddened by the situation and is aiming for the last directions passed by the FCGB.
“Obviously as a Bordeaux player and a player trained at the Girondins, it’s true that it’s a great sadness to see what’s happening to the club. When I was a kid, I went to see all the matches at Lescure with my father. To see the club fall so low is terrible. There were many errors made by the president, by the entire management of Bordeaux. It’s sad to see a monument like that be able to fall so low. It’s still quite serious to have left the keys to the truck with such incompetent people. Bordeaux should never have found themselves in a situation like this. Today, the Girondins are returning to National 2, it will take time for Bordeaux to return to the elite. But what’s beautiful all the same is that we see all the fervor that there still is for this club. Even in National 2, the supporters are behind them, they don’t give up, and I find that very beautiful.”
