A forestry worker is fighting for his life after being seriously injured in an accident on Monday.
Around 5:15 p.m., emergency services were called to intervene in a forest area, near Chemin de Pénétration, in Senneterre.
According to initial reports, an employee was trapped in machinery used to crush wood
explains Sergeant Nancy Fournier, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec. She adds that the assistance of several responders, such as doctors, nurses, firefighters, ambulances was necessary to extricate the man
.
Sergeant Fournier says she fears for the employee’s life.
An investigation is underway to understand the causes and circumstances of the work accident.
