The prices at the pump of gasoline and diesel decreased this Tuesday, October 1, by around 30 cents per liter, depending on the distributors. According to the latest survey carried out by Le360this morning in the city center of Casablanca, diesel is displayed at 11.47 dirhams per liter in Afriquia and Shell service stations. On the other hand, it is 11.45 dirhams per liter at Winxo.
Gasoline is priced at 13.37 dirhams at Afriquia and Shell and at 13.34 dirhams at Winxo. As for the distributor Total, it has not yet updated its prices, still offering a liter of diesel at 11.77 dirhams and that of gasoline at 13.67 dirhams.

It should be noted that due to the cost of transport, the price of fuel at service stations in other cities in the Kingdom is generally higher than these reference prices, with varying differences depending on the distance.
In order to mitigate the impact of price fluctuations on the purchasing power of consumers, the government has, remember, mobilized direct financial aid, distributed to freight and passenger transporters, all categories combined (taxis, buses , trucks, road tractors).
However, Morocco ranks fourth among African countries with the highest fuel prices, after the Central African Republic, Senegal, Seychelles and Zimbabwe. The Kingdom’s dependence on fuel imports is one of the main reasons for this price level.
Unlike oil-producing countries, Morocco does not benefit from the advantages of domestic production, which would cushion price shocks on international prices.
