It’s World Day for one of the most consumed drinks in the world, coffee. It remains the best ally to start the day well. This Sunday, October 6, the Museum of Decorative Arts of the Indian Ocean (MADOI) is organizing its traditional Coffee Festival at the Domaine de Maison Rouge in Saint-Louis.

One of the most popular products continues to see its price increase, up to a 20% increase in world prices. It is Robusta coffee which records the largest increase with + 53% in 2023. Inflation justified by maritime transport, speculative funds, but also caused by global warming.

It remains one of the most consumed drinks in the world.

Program for the coffee festival in Saint-Louis this Sunday:

– Guided tours of the Domaine de Maison Rouge (last coffee estate in French overseas territories, preserved in its original state since the 18th century)

– Discovery workshops: the art of Latte / Coffee from its origins / coffee cooking

– Visit–conference with Madame Vitry, professional producer of Bourbon Pointu coffee

– Tasting of Bourbon Pointu coffee, harvested at Domaine de Maison-Rouge

-Concert by the group SECTEUR 410 at 5 p.m.
