Last night, at 4 a.m., Pat Perna – born Patrice Perna, fifty-eight years ago – couldn’t sleep a wink. So he got up and cast a spell on the 3 kilos of plums given by the neighbor. Sometimes, the jitters bake in the sugar and the anxieties melt away with the fruit. Since information leaked in early September about the upcoming publication of the graphic novel Gregory (1), written with Jean-Marie Villemin, his phone never stops ringing. The journalists are laying siege. It must be said that the event is twofold. The little boy’s father – who had not spoken for three decades – signed the preface. The mystery, undoubtedly the most famous of the criminal annals, will reach forty years of age.
