Abidjan – For the 2024-2025 coffee and cocoa marketing campaign, the government has set the price of a kilogram of coffee at 1,500 fcfa and that of cocoa at 1,800 fcfa.

These different prices were announced by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, at the close of the National Cocoa and Chocolate Days (JNCC 2024), on September 30, 2024 in Abidjan.

According to the minister, it is within the framework of strategic cooperation with its counterpart in Ghana that the government of Côte d’Ivoire decided to harmonize production, marketing and price-setting policies. Also, for the 2024-2025 campaign which opens on October 1, the kilogram of well-fermented, well-sorted and well-dried cocoa is set at 1,800 FCFA, an increase of 20% compared to the price of the intermediate campaign. .

Regarding coffee, in order to balance this pair and continue to encourage its production, the government has set the price of a kilogram of well-dried, well-shelled and well-sorted coffee at 1,500 FCFA for the 2024-2025 campaign, i.e. an increase of 55% compared to the previous campaign.

The Minister of Agriculture underlined that, concerned about the well-being of farmers, the Head of State, on a proposal from the government, decided that from now on all coffee and cocoa producers, holders of the planter’s card as well as that their families will benefit from Universal Health Coverage (CMU) free of charge. This support will be provided by the Coffee-Cocoa Council for a total amount of 1 billion CFA francs per month.

He therefore invited all producers who have not yet registered to do so immediately to benefit from the services of this insurance.
