FIGAROVOX/MAINTENANCE – In “The true cost of progressivism” (Artilleur), the journalist Wandrille de Guerpel was interested in the cost to the community of progressive associations and institutions. According to him, the French subsidize, without necessarily knowing it, an ideology which is, for the majority, not theirs.

LE FIGARO. – You publish The True Cost of Progressivism , with Emmanuel Rechberg. What were your motivations and how do you define progressivism?

Wandrille DE GUERPEL. – Since the election of François Mitterrand in 1981, and later the various electoral victories of the left, progressive ideas have established themselves in society. Whether in institutions, the media world or the associative world. But progressivism was not able to impose itself by its power alone. We had to investigate the money side. This is what we did by going through dozens of accounts from associations, state commissions, etc. Beyond the considerable work, one observation: the French subsidize, without necessarily knowing it, an ideology which is, for the majority, not theirs.
