In June, the Solidaires 01 union organized a rally to ask the town of Bourg-en-Bresse to be accommodated in the premises of the Maison des syndicats. This approach came after more than ten years of requests to be accommodated in the same way as other trade union organizations.
A first step has been taken since, since the end of 2023, Solidaires has been able to have a room in the building. Its managers welcome employees who need it every Friday afternoon. “The proposal made by the City is that we can have a mailbox, a notice board and a closed cupboard,” indicates Eva-Marianne, departmental co-secretary. It’s a beginning. »
Working on restructuring the union
The idea today for the activists is to use this room to also work on the restructuring of the union. “There is thus better communication between the sections,” adds Vincent Guérin, the other manager, who hopes, like the activists, that their own premises will eventually be allocated to them.
