The medieval city of Carcassonne will host a free techno and house festival

Stomping your feet in a setting of knights is possible thanks to the Festival Dans Ma Cité! Kendal, Lea Lisa, Musik by Oz, Austher, or Phreak Monica to name a few, will take over the Medieval City of Carcassonne on May 17, 18 and 19.

The largest fortress in Europe

And yes, like every year, who says May means the return of festivals… If the open-airs have already reopened their doors in more than mixed weather (or is it just in Paris?), this time , it’s the right one.

The Festival In My City jumped at the opportunity by announcing a fourth edition from May 17 to 19. The crew will invest the Medieval City of Carcassonne againlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and will thus offer festival-goers a unique decor entirely made of stone.

The festivities will take place outdoors, between medieval towers and ramparts. Participants will also be able to taste regional wines while enjoying local street food stands.

But let’s get down to business: the music. With an eclectic lineup mixing house and techno, the organizers have opted for a 5 p.m.-2 a.m. format from Friday to Sunday.

Carcassonne turns into a techno festival

In total, around thirty hours of sound await festival-goers! In terms of line-up, the Festival Dans Ma Cité invited as many emerging as established artists in order to place festival-goers under the sign of discovery.

For example, there will be Kendal and the promising Auster from the Ritmo Fatale stable, or even Switzerland Lisa Lisa who was recently spotted working alongside Favorite Recordings to deliver a collection of rare house and old school tracks.

Phreak Monica And Marcelle of Soul Seekers Posse, a house collective from the South of France, will join the pioneer Music By Oz.

Finally, for an immersive experience, the festival decided to mix music and visual art with projections of the street artist Mero and mappings created by several artists invited especially for the event.
