The death of Laura Trappeniers, Belgian who disappeared in Tenerife, confirmed: her body “was visibly found dismembered”

In Tenerife, a lifeless body was found on the island yesterday. It is that of Laura Trappeniers, this 66-year-old lady who has been missing for more than a week. Her husband is still nowhere to be found.

The Spanish press announced on Saturday the discovery of the body of a woman recovered from the water with a plastic bag over her head. Yesterday, the country’s authorities affirmed that Laura Trappeniers had been located. At the start of the evening, we learned, according to an RTL info Source, that the two cases are linked. It is indeed the lifeless body of the sixty-year-old, originally from Anderlecht. Relatives were notified of the discovery of the body and the identification. Her husband is still missing.

The body was apparently found dismembered.

According to Spanish media, some extremities of the body are missing. “Obviously, it is the subsequent findings, including the autopsy, which will clarify the circumstances of his death. Knowing that the body was visibly found dismembered, it cannot be excluded, given that it it is a marine immersion, it was unfortunately damaged by the propellers of a ship”indicates Olivier Dupont, criminal lawyer at the Liège bar.

Back to the facts

A notice of disappearance was published last week via the website of the Spanish National Center for Missing Persons (CNDES). The FPS Foreign Affairs was aware of this disappearance.

They were Laura Trappeniers (66 years old) and her husband Marc Olbrechts (71 years old). On social media, friends of the couple launched an appeal for information. The two individuals were last seen on April 22.

They didn’t leave of their own free will“, a friend of the couple confirms to Het Laatste Nieuws, after discovering that Laura’s keys and phone were still in the house. Their car was also missing.

Late this Thursday morning, the FPS Foreign Affairs officially confirmed Laura’s death, while specifying that the search to find her husband is underway.
