Very involved associations

This action, winner of a prize as part of the Hability Go call for projects, organized by Caen-la-Mer Habitat, is one of the many projects carried out by these three associations, very present in the neighborhood.

The women’s association was created in October 2021 after a year of field actions, such as food and solidarity distributions in the Hérouville-Saint-Clair and Chemin-Vert districts. The little resourceful people, from popular education, offer daily actions aimed at young and old, to open up to scientific and technical culture. As for Nature en Folie, we owe it, since 2022, the creation of vegetable garden spaces in the neighborhood.

The spring program

Nature en Folie is currently carrying out a major project, the Jardin des tourterelles, in connection with the center of life and the town hall of Caen. This 600 m plot2, located in the extension of the Champagne plant area, alongside the recently developed sports area, will be dedicated to vegetable growing. It will be accessible to adults, children and people with reduced mobility. The garden will be inaugurated on July 8.

While waiting for this celebration, the association is meeting on the occasion of Neighbors’ Day, Saturday 1er June, with a free-shop, a snack and a shared meal.

Saturday May 4, 2024, from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., giant Meccano® and snack, then shared meal. Meet at the Champagne area, rue des Tourterelles.
