In Senegal, consumer prices increased by 0.6% in February 2024, in monthly variation, due to the increase in the price of food products, in particular unprocessed cereals (+6.8%) and fresh fish ( +4.3%).

Over one year, consumer prices increased by 2.3% in February 2024, in connection with food products (+3.6%), “furniture, household items and routine household maintenance” (+1.4%), “miscellaneous goods and services” (+4.0%) and “transport” (+1.0%).

The Director of Forecasting and Economic Studies (Dpee) who gives her data notes that with regard to underlying inflation (excluding fresh and energy products), it stood at -0.1% in monthly variation and at 1.4% year-on-year.

On a monthly basis, the prices of local products remained stable while those of imported products increased by 2.6% in February 2024, reports the same Source.

Over one year, the Director of Forecasting and Economic Studies finally indicates that the prices of local and imported products increased by 0.6% and 5.8% respectively in February 2024.
