“What we anticipate is not necessarily a change in the nature of crime, but the same delinquency at power X” during the Games, said Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau on Thursday May 2 on France Inter.

“Paris has the characteristic of always having tourists in July-August. Simply, there will be many more tourists, added the Paris prosecutor. This means that the delinquents will attack these tourists in a – I dare say – classic way: watch thefts, pickpocketing. Then there will be more specific delinquency. We fear housing scams and a greater influx of pimping. And then, beyond Paris (the inner suburbs), what we are certain of is that cyberattacks will increase during the Olympics.”

Risks which add to a possible terrorist threat.
