Returning to the pitch with the captain’s armband on Sunday, Alexandre Lacazette played his 345th match with OL. He is now alone in 10th place among the most capped players, ahead of Juninho.

Once again, he was at the head of the Lyon revolt on Sunday against Monaco. After a good quarter of an hour of frustration and moody gestures, Alexandre Lacazette found a smile again. On a service from Saïd Benrahma, the OL captain only had to push the ball into the Monegasque goal to get back to 1-1. Although he did not have the easiest match of his career, Lacazette once again carried his team and proved altruistic by throwing Malick Fofana perfectly for the 3-2 goal in the 84th minute of play. Absent from the list of nominees for the title of best player of the season, the strikerOL must certainly prefer to see his team be European next season than an individual nomination. His talent no longer needs to be proven and above all he wishes to leave his mark on the history ofOL.

After the coronation in 2012, Alexandre Lacazette hopes to lift a second Coupe de France on May 25 against the PSG. As captain, he would have the honor of capsizing the supporters of theOL and to be a successor of Juninho, penultimate captain to have brought back a title between Rhône and Saône. Since Sunday, the Brazilian has been in Lacazette’s rearview mirrors. Having played his 345th match with OL, number 10 is now alone in 10th place among the most capped players in Lyon history. He now needs 35 then 36 games to tie and then move ahead Rambert in 9th place.
