Patrice Selly’s surprise reshuffle

Patrice Selly’s surprise reshuffle
Descriptive text here

The heart has its reasons that politics does not know… Surprised by the chef, Patrice Selly decided to part ways with one of his oldest – and loyal – collaborators. His chief of staff at Cirest and formerly at town hall, Jérémy Sheikmera. He told him Monday, at the end of the day, during an interview on the sidelines of a work meeting, as first revealed by Zinfos’974. The same morning, the two men were side by side at the inauguration of the TCSP portion of the RN3 (our April 30 edition). An announcement which surprised Cirest and the elected representatives of the majority.

The two men had been linked for ten years. A collaboration started within the majority of Jean-Claude Fruteau. The professional firefighter had worked alongside deputy Patrice Selly in city politics. He will then follow him in the adventure of the 2020 municipal elections of which he was one of the linchpins. The equally victorious departmental and regional campaigns will follow with eight elected officials for the young Banian party. The position of chief of staff became vacant in October 2022, and he replaces Fabrice Grondin in this position. According to our information, the president of Cirest blames his colleague for the management around the SPL Estival crisis, a lack of cohesion of the majority and support from the EPCI towards the municipality. Which may surprise you.

ELECTED OFFICIALS BECOME MORE DISCREET

A quorum has always been assured on the Cirest council, the budget voted on and Patrice Selly’s majority assured despite the clash with Saint-André over the rotating presidency. The last senatorial elections resulted in the election of Audrey Belim. At SPL Estival, the agreement reached ultimately resulted in the departure of only six agents who refused their pay cut according to our information. Some put forward conflicting relations with members of the majority and a desire for renewal to explain this choice as the municipal campaign approaches.

She promises to be tough against Jean-Hugues Ratenon. The chief of staff is expected to stay in his post for a few more weeks but it will certainly not be his last political word! All eyes are now turning to the municipal majority, called to meet at the beginning of next week. In the mayor’s entourage, some sense a mini-reshuffle while elected officials have become more discreet in recent months or have distanced themselves. “He wants to give a signal to his team and consolidate his majority before the municipal elections” slips a loved one.

Looks become more specific towards the 2nd assistant, Marie Michelle Mariaye or the 1st assistant, Ridwanne Issa. The first, however, was the first to follow Patrice Selly. The second was a finalist in the last legislative elections and director of the 2020 campaign. Two elected officials who have become rarer in recent months, particularly since the SPL Estival affair. Some want to see the recent withdrawal of the 1st deputy’s financial delegation as a warning sign. Not for others who specify that it was following a request from the legality control (same delegation as the mayor). He keeps those linked to tourism or the economy and continues to sit on the council and in the commissions. The mayor has also just entrusted him with the mission of organizing the future night market. White smoke is now expected near the town hall.
