Météo France has placed the South Corsica and the Upper Corsica on alert for yellow thunderstorms tomorrow, Thursday May 2.

The system is active from midnight for both departments and should be active until 9 p.m.

Southern Corsica is also placed on rain-flood alert between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday.

Note that the two departments are already placed on yellow thunderstorm alert this Wednesday, May 1.

Upper Corsica

In Haute-Corse, showers are expected in Balagne, in the Basti region, on the relief as well as in Cortenais tomorrow, Thursday May 2. The rain-snow limit will also drop to 1,500 meters.

Showers will be more active in the middle of the day and will decrease in the evening.

At the end of the afternoon, a fairly strong wind is expected in the western part of the department, with gusts reaching 95 km/h.

South Corsica

In Corsica-du-Sud, Météo France announces gloomy weather for Thursday with rare showers. It will snow from 1,550 meters. A fairly strong mistral is forecast with gusts to 95 km/h. The showers will stop at the end of the night.

Météo France sends recommendations to the population who ” practicing activities sensitive to meteorological risks or near a shore or a watercourse. Usual phenomena in the region but occasionally and locally dangerous (mistral, summer storm, rising waters, strong waves submerging the coast) are indeed planned.
