For his first start of the season, Zinedine Ferhat met expectations by scoring his first goal and the only achievement for his Angers team which lost 3-1 at home to Reims.
The Rémois stifled Angers during the first period and the visitors managed to score twice during the first 45 minutes, first by the Japanese Nakamura in the 9th minute of play and then in the 25th by his compatriot Ito.
In the second period, Angers created a few chances, especially after the entry into play of Algerian international Farid El Melali who brought freshness to his team’s attack, however, Himad Abdelli’s teammates conceded a third goal in this match by Munetsi in the 79th minute.
After this third goal, Angers managed to reduce the score thanks to Zinedine Ferhat, the former USM Alger received a back pass from his compatriot El Melali, faked a shot to dribble past a defender and shot at the edge from the area to score his first goal of the season.
Final score 3-1 for Reims and a new defeat in Ligue 1 for Angers which remains the bottom of the championship.
