After winning at home last year, the students of IMT Mines Alès (former mining school) went to challenge their national counterparts in Nantes last weekend. This Tuesday, they celebrated, on the Clavières site, the trophy acquired, congratulated in ironic half-hearted words by a director, Assia Tria, who expected no less.

Looking stern but with a smile on her lips, the director of IMT Mines Alès, Assia Tria, was severe with her flock, despite having returned as winners of the 17 sports offered at the 50th Cartel des mines, a sporting event which brings together 1,800 participants from mining schools and telecom institutes in France.
32 victories in 50 editions
It must be said that in 50 participations, the Alesian school has entered its name in the rankings 38 times, sorry. Once for bronze, five times for silver and, above all, thirty-two times for gold!!! “The Cartel is therefore a duty, a responsibility, continues Assia Tria as a false stepmother. The mark of great champions is to have modest victory. But, in all modesty, you crushed them, she said, provoking loud applause. You are winners based on your human and creative abilities.”
Next year, the 51st edition will take place in Paris. A symbol after the Olympics. And a new place to conquer for IMT Mines Alès.
