The honey competition is always a highlight of the Bee Festival, it marks its opening with the jury meeting on Wednesday (September 11 this year) for the classification of the different honeys offered.
The difficult start to the season had given rise to fears within the Departmental Beekeeping Health Association 49 regarding the success of the competition. The beekeepers finally responded to the call and depending on their place in the ranking, they received a diploma but also a Gold, Silver and Bronze Bee.
This year again, the Anjou honey competition was a success with the receipt of nearly 80 samples from 50 beekeepers representing 30 municipalities in Maine-et-Loire. This is a great result and we hope that these figures will increase in the years to come
