Like every year, the Regional Metropolitan Transport Authority (ARTM) announced on Tuesday the fare changes planned in the coming months.

Users who want to take an All Modes AB passage will therefore have to pay $4.75 compared to the current $4.50.

This is the same transport ticket which saw a significant jump in its price during the fare overhaul carried out in July 2022. Initially, the ARTM wanted to charge $5.25 for a single ticket. against $3.50 in 2021, but the strong protest allowed the price to be revised downwards.

The price for a metro or bus ticket in zone A – on the island of Montreal – will remain unchanged at $3.75.

On the other hand, taking 10 passages in a single payment will be much more expensive, changing from $32.50 to $33.25 for zone A.

Monthly subscriptions also on the rise

Users who are more accustomed to paying a monthly subscription to take transport will not be spared from the price increase either.

Thus, the price of traveling each month in zone A will increase from $97 to $100 on July 1 and from $155 to $160 for zone AB. Those who have to go even further, such as to Contrecœur, will have to add $6 to their subscription which will change from $190 to $196.

In other changes to be expected, “the special bus tickets linked to the REM will continue to be adjusted, progressively, until they reach, in 2026, the cost of their equivalents All Modes AB, All Modes ABC or All ABCD modes will then be eliminated.”

In general, transportation tickets in Greater Montreal are subject to an average indexation of 3%.
