Between September 16 and 22, monitoring indicators show an increase in cases, both in town and in hospital, particularly among those over 65. During this period, “1,013 hospitalizations after going to the emergency room for Covid-19 or suspected Covid-19 were recorded” in this age group, indicates the health agency.

The vaccination campaign from October 15

Faced with this resurgence, the message remains the same: barrier gestures and vigilance. Health authorities are recommending a new seasonal vaccination campaign from October 15, targeting those over 65 and people at risk. This will be a “joint vaccination campaign against Covid-19 and influenza”, specifies Public Health France.

Some health professionals even advise putting the mask back on, particularly as soon as the first symptoms appear, in order to limit the spread of the virus and protect the most vulnerable. The objective is clear: to avoid a new wave of contamination while protecting the most vulnerable.
