After the first rains fell in the town of Kankan, several families in the Banankoroda district woke up with their feet under water. To understand the causes, technicians from the company Guiter SA (Guineenne de Terraménager Routier) in charge of road works in the area, carried out a visit this Monday, April 29.

“We understand their concerns. They must understand that the work we carry out in Banakoroda is carried out in accordance with the standards dictated by the specifications. These are in no way unilateral decisions by the Guiter company. Today, we follow ECOWAS standards for urban roads. Our goal is to build roads that are not submerged by water. Because if we lay bituminous coverings and they then end up underwater, that means the work was poorly done. The durability and longevity of these infrastructures depend on the quality and standards defined by the specifications. Thus, we work in accordance with the standards recommended by the specifications and approved by the control mission responsible for supervising the execution of the work by the Guiter company,” explained Moussa Camara, head of external affairs and community relations at Guiter.
