By beating Rennes, Stade Brestois secured a place in the European Cup. A qualification celebrated in style in Brest.
SPORT – A day that these Bretons will remember. Stade Brestois won 5-4 against Stade Rennes after an incredible match played on Sunday April 28 in Rennes. A victory which allows Brest to secure a place in the European Cup next season, a first in the club’s history. Euphoria took over the city for a crazy night.
The rallies began around 10:45 p.m. in front of the Francis-Le Blé stadium where the players were returning after their victory in the neighboring department. Smoke bombs, Breton flags, horns, accompanied by shouts “ This is Brest”, the sports car was welcomed like kings, like you can see it below.
Nearly a thousand fans gathered for the occasion. And the players mingled with the crowd, like goalkeeper Marco Bizot who climbed to the top of a gate with supporters. Hugo Magnetti and Grégoire Coudert who joined the security headquarters to join the party.
