fire on Saint-Jacques street in Dieppe: three people transported to hospital

The firefighters of Dieppe (Seine-Maritime) are currently under intervention. This Monday, April 29, 2024 around 4:30 p.m., they were called to a fire, in the City center, rue Saint-Jacques.

According to our journalist present on site, the fire started from the bedroom of an apartment which is located on the first floor of a building located next to the hotel-restaurant At Grand Duquesne. Five people were evacuated before help arrived.

Four emergency vehicles as well as 16 firefighters are on the scene and the large ladder has been deployed. Also on site, the national and municipal police as well as representatives of the City of Dieppe.

Among the five people evacuated, three were bothered by fumes. Taken care of by firefighters, they were transported to hospital.

And if the fire is brought under control, the fire fighters will remain on site for almost two more hours, the street will therefore be blocked to traffic during the intervention.

The room having been completely destroyed, the building is, for the moment, inaccessible.
