After F1, 3 disciplines for Daniel Ricciardo

It’s been official for a few hours, Daniel Ricciardo will no longer be the driver of Racing Bulls at the end of the Formula 1 season. At 35, the experienced driver can offer himself several exit options.

What had been rumored for several days was made official this mid-week. For several reasons, Racing Bulls has decided to part ways with one of its drivers, Daniel Riccardo. Currently thirteenth in the Formula 1 driver rankings, the 35-year-old Australian will have had the merit of crossing the 250 Grand Prix mark. Achieving 32 podiums and even 8 victories. Passed by Toro Rosso, Renault, McLaren, and therefore Red Bull (with Alpha Tauri and Racing Bulls recently), Ricciardo will have left his mark on the world of F1. Now, a new chapter awaits him. It remains to be seen which discipline the Perth native will choose.

IndyCar, Daniel Ricciardo’s new playground?

The IndyCar Series, a famous single-seater race in the United States, has brought joy to several drivers who have passed through Formula 1. We think of the British Nigel Mansell, but also of Jacques Villeneuve, Juan Pablo Montoya and the French Romain Grosjean. How can we not also mention Sébastien Bourdais, former Toro Rosso driver, who won the American Champ Car championship with Newman/Haas Racing four times. English-speaking, Daniel Ricciardo seems to have all the qualities to offer himself a second youth on the other side of the Atlantic.

The 24 Hours of , land of F1 world champions

Historically, many Formula 1 world champions have participated in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. Juan Manuel Fangio, Jack Brabham, Graham Hill, Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, Nelson Piquet, Keke Rosberg, Nigel Mansell, Michael Schumacher, Jacques Villeneuve, all joined at one time or another in their rich career. This also applies to other drivers, such as Mick Schumacher, Romain Grosjean, Nyck de Vries, Jenson Button, Robert Kubica, Daniil Kvyat and Antonio Giovinazzi. Here again, the transition would not be really daring.

The Dakar in sight for Ricciardo?

The Dakar 2025 will take place from January 3 to 17 in Saudi Arabia between Bisha and Shubaytah. If only for a question of timing, it is difficult to see Daniel Ricciardo participating. But the Australian would be neither the first nor the last Formula 1 driver to test himself in the legendary rally race created by Thierry Sabine in 1978. Jaxky Ickx, Ari Vatanen, Jean-Louis Schlesser, Carlos Sainz, Sébastien Loeb , Fernando Alonso… Whether they come from the world of Formula 1, Endurance, Rally, they have all attempted the Dakar adventure once, or even more than once. Will Ricciardo take advantage of his extensive F1 experience to attempt the Dakar adventure? In any case, this is an option that should not be ruled out.
