The weather conditions wreaked havoc at airport this Thursday evening. While strong swells and dangerous waves raged on the Côte d’Azur, air traffic was indeed disrupted. Airport communication mentioned a westerly wind and “a low ceiling”, forcing a landside landing, as reported by Nice-Matin.

“Flight diverted to Montpellier with no return possible. Hotel found by EasyJet at 2 a.m. and return to Nice by bus tomorrow around 2 p.m.: no refund or other from the company,” complained an Internet user on Facebook, in the comments section of a publication from Nice- Morning.

15 flights from Nice also canceled

These cancellations disrupted other flights since 15 departures from Nice, planned with these planes, will not take place either. “Our teams are in place to help these people,” added the airport communication, which advises passengers to check with their company or on the site.
