The Bressuire art workshop “Le Grenier” is organizing its 43rd at the châteaue painting salon of 1er to May 20. The 2024 edition welcomes 90 exhibitors, 50% of which are new or returning, for 163 works hung.
“ We’re stocking up. We are at the end of the pitches and the hanging system », notes Francis Pollet who is delighted with the success of the Bressuirais show with artists while “ everywhere, salons are disappearing “.
The exhibition offers a beautiful diversity: classic with oils, acrylics, very fine watercolors and some beautiful originalities with hyperrealism and even a large painting of colored natural sand. Around ten works have already won awards and been acquired.
“ I like the multiplicity of talents and the explosion of proposals rejoices the president of Grenier. With such a variety of styles, the complexity of installing intensifies. Contemporary painting is growing. The figurative resists but it is a little worn out. Over the years, we feel a great evolution. Quality increases. A living room is awesome. You have to come to the castle to combat the gloom. »
Painting salon at the Château de Bressuire, open May 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12, 18, 19, 20 (2:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.). FREE ENTRANCE. Place du Tertre. On Saturday, May 4 (2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.) students from the Grenier, Pottery and Verger des Sculpteurs are invited to come paint, draw, model and work in public on Place Notre-Dame for the 4e edition of Place du Tertre.
