The pioneer series

When the games first came out in the 90s, Lunar was a pioneer of its time, often credited as one of the first JRPGs to become popular in the West. With the upcoming release of the Lunar Remastered Collection, we invite you to experience (or relive) this iconic title that shaped the JRPG genre.

A timeless classic, reimagined

This reworked edition features numerous updates, such as widescreen compatibility, improved pixel arts, HD animated cutscenes, and all-new English voice acting. Players can choose between the original graphics or reworked graphics for a more modern appearance. Additionally, a new slider helps speed up battles, giving them more control over the pace of their adventure, while improved strategy settings make battles even easier to master. And for the first time in the series, Lunar will be available in two new languages: French and German, in addition to English and Japanese.

L’aventure commence – Lunar: Silver Star Story

Lunar: Silver Star Story begins in the small village of Burg, where a boy named Alex dreams of big adventures inspired by the dragon master Dyne. In search of adventure and treasure, Alex and his friends go on a quest, but with the sudden appearance of the Magic Tsar, it will be up to them to fight evil and save a world in peril.

The Legend Continues – Lunar 2: Eternal Blue

Set 1000 years after Lunar: Silver Star Story, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue follows a young adventurer named Hiro, who encounters a mysterious visitor from Blue Star while exploring an ancient tower. Carrying the name Lucia, she insists on gaining an audience with the mistress of their world, the Goddess Althena. Hiro and Lucia will encounter the greatest allies, the worst enemies, and the darkest forces of destruction that threaten all that has been created.

It’s getting tough

The Lunar series tells the story of a young adventurer accompanied by a silky-haired partner, who falls in love with a girl who may or may not be immortal. What begins as a light-hearted quest quickly takes a darker turn with the rise of an ancient Evil, placing the fate of the world in the hero’s hands. This timeless story, filled with dragons, swords and treasure, is brought to life by a cast of unforgettable characters — from a young priestess who acts like the perfect heiress at home, but who hides a nasty temper, to tragic villain who nevertheless has a nose for the dramatic. The games’ simple, straight-to-the-point story, combined with well-thought-out character development, gives Lunar a unique charm.

Iconic artistic direction

Lunar’s appeal also lies in its splendid graphics, whether it’s the animated cutscenes or the 2D pixel art. The blend of these two distinctive art styles in the battles, events, and animated cutscenes made this a game that stood out when it was first released. Even today, Lunar’s 90s anime style hasn’t lost its splendor, and we’ve made it even better. This retro style is rare these days, and playing this game will satiate your appetite for 90s games.

With over 25 years passing since the release of Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete on the first PlayStation, we are proud to announce that the Lunar series is returning to PlayStation with the Lunar Remastered Collection. Experience the return of this essential JRPG classic when it releases in spring 2025 on PS5 and PS4.
