The Les Fruits du terroir association which works to the conservation and preservation of local plant and landscape heritage, and more particularly fruit trees, will organize a chestnut day on Saturday October 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the hamlet of Messant, in the commune of Éguzon-Chantôme. Participants will be welcomed at 9:30 a.m. at the Petit Musée des Peintures de Crozant where the Delage family, manager of the establishment, will serve coffee. The groups will then leave for the chestnut groves to collect the fruit and will return at 11:45 a.m. for an aperitif with roasted chestnuts and cider.

The peeling and cooking of the two local varieties, patouillette and nousillarde, to obtain chestnut puree will take place before a shared lunch, which will be followed by the making of chestnut cream and chestnut flour until at 5 p.m.
