Yesterday, 45,000 EDF customers were deprived of electricity due to a production deficit leading to power cuts. A production deficit attributed to striking EDF PEI agents. But according to the latter, as Nathanaël Vérin, CGTG union representative of EDP PEI, expressed on our channel, or Jimmy Thélémaque of the same union via a tweet, it was a cut linked to a maintenance operation.

False, replied this Thursday the management of EDF PEI, which specified in a press release that 4 engines had been stopped at the Pointe Jarry power station.

We confirm that the 4 engines were deliberately shut down by the striking agents on September 25 between 12:51 p.m. and 1:05 p.m., thus causing power cuts to 45,000 homes. No urgent maintenance need justified the shutdown of these 4 engines, contrary to the assertions of the CGTG. The certificates presented by the striking agents were signed after the engines had been arbitrarily shut down.

Management said it “deplored” these malicious acts depriving part of the population of electricity.
