Fire in progress in the Pyrénées-Orientales. This Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the end of the afternoon, a fire broke out in Bompasnear Perpignan, in the industrial zone of Avenue de la Têt. The fire caused a large plume of black smoke.
20 firefighters sent to the scene
The alert was given at 5:20 p.m. For a reason that remains to be determined, a truck caught fire in a garage on Avenue de la Têt. Very quickly, a force of around twenty firefighters was mobilized to the scene.
When they arrived, the flames had engulfed the entire 50 m² premises. At 5:45 p.m., the firefighters were still on site. There were no casualties to report, nor any risk of the fire spreading.
“The situation is favourable,” confirms the departmental fire and rescue operational centre (Codis 66) in Perpignan News.
