30th Anniversary Limited Editions Already Selling for Top Dollars, Scalpers Are Back

Sony put on sale this morning new special editions of its PS5 to mark the 30the anniversary of the brand. And as expected, the scalpers were of course also there.

It was this morning that Sony launched pre-orders for its 30th anniversary editions of the PS5. As expected, the different packs were marketed at much higher prices than the original versions because of their new design, and are especially released in very limited quantities.

As with every new sale, it was to be expected that a large part of the stock would be stolen by scalpers, these experts sometimes using robots that order as many copies as possible with the aim of reselling them later. For once, they have once again managed to get hold of a good portion of the stock, and some have even already moved on to the next stage: reselling it at a high price.

30th anniversary PS5s are available at stratospheric prices

Among the packs put on sale by Sony this morning, we could find a brand new PS5 Pro pack at no less than 1099.99 euros, but also the classic Pro version at 799 euros, the Slim version at 499.99 euros, the Dual Sense controller at 79.99 euros, the Dual Sense Edge controller at 249.99 euros as well as the PlayStation Portal at 239.99 euros. All will be delivered from November 21.

On Ebay or Leboncoin, some lucky people who were able to get a copy are already having a blast. PS5 Pros are being offered at exorbitant prices, up to more than 10,000 euros for some. The controllers are also available for several hundred euros. Enough to give cold sweats to latecomers who were unable to order on the official website, but who really wanted a copy.

On social networks, Many players are already expressing their annoyance at not being able to order. Some are wondering whether Sony should implement a sort of lottery, a strategy often practiced in Japan, which allows everyone to be on an equal footing for pre-orders of a new device.
