10:25 a.m.. The departure parade began at 9:30 a.m. punctuated by “good luck”, hugs and wishes for success. There are many people in the village to listen to the last words of the skippers. Lorient residents impressed by the performance that the 48 skippers of The Transat CIC are preparing to deliver. “It’s great to be here, to cast off from our base,” confides Lorient resident Jérémie Beyou, skipper of Charal.
9:30 a.m.. ” Slept well ? », asks his team to Paul Meilhat. The skipper is calm a few minutes before his departure from the pontoons of Lorient La Base. Family, friends and sponsors are enjoying their last moments with the skippers.
9 a.m.. It was not yet 9 a.m. this Sunday, but there were already people on the quays of Lorient La Base a few hours before the departure of The Transat CIC. The skippers go on stage for a final interview and the signing of the poster. The 48 skippers entered will leave the pontoons from 9:30 a.m., every two minutes. They will cross the starting line at 1:30 p.m.
