The funeral of Philippine, found dead in the Bois de Boulogne, will take place this Friday, September 27, at the Saint-Louis Cathedral in Versailles.
The funeral of Philippine, the 19-year-old student whose body was found in the Bois de Boulogne on Saturday, September 21, will take place this Friday, September 27 at 1 p.m. in the Saint-Louis Cathedral in Versailles, the family’s entourage told BFMTV.
On Monday, a moment of silence was observed at the initiative of her classmates at Paris-Dauphine University, where Philippine was studying. An online kitty was also launched in support of her family, in particular to help them financially with the organization of the funeral and legal costs.
Suspect arrested in Switzerland
Philippine’s family had reported her missing, having had no news since Friday afternoon, while the student was due to return to the family home in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, in the Yvelines, for the weekend. The student’s body was found the next day, buried, in the Bois de Boulogne.
An investigation into voluntary homicide was subsequently opened, and a 22-year-old suspect was arrested in Geneva. The Paris prosecutor’s office indicated that an extradition request would be sent to the Swiss authorities. Once accepted, the suspect will be taken to the headquarters of the Paris judicial police, to be questioned by investigators.
