This Tuesday, September 24, the Association for the Right to Die with Dignity (ADMD) announced the death of Loïc Résibois. Suffering from Charcot’s disease, an active campaigner for assisted dying and defender of the law on the end of life, the former police officer was 47 years old.
“Loïc has passed away… We are thinking of his wife, Caroline, who is so strong, and of his entire family. Thank you Loïc for your courage, for this lesson. Thank you for everything you have done. We will never forget you and we will continue this fight for you,” posted the association Mourir dans la pauvrete on X.
“When the psychological suffering becomes too difficult, I want to be able to say stop,” the Picard confided to Le Télégramme on September 24, 2023.
“Here we are…”
“Hello everyone. Here we are… For months, I have been fighting so that patients who are condemned to die can decide when they feel they can no longer or no longer want to go any further and this moment has arrived for me. It is both a moment that I welcome and accept with sadness, but also a form of relief,” wrote Loïc Résibois on Instagram last August.
