“The match turned on set pieces, these are important phases of play in closed matches. They were effective in this sector of the game. This was a strength for them, they were well struck. We lacked proximity in marking and aggressiveness. This cost us dearly because time was on our side in a scenario where the score remained at 0-0, but we will never know. There were a lot of rotations which meant that the players lacked rhythm. We also had some dull boys and then there were the playing conditions. The ACA and we had game plans that were difficult to apply on a pitch like that and despite this, both teams remained structured, but there was a lack of technical quality. We lacked faith in what we were doing to go further in our actions. Overall, what we must remember is that the match turned on set pieces.”
