The history of the Odaje brand (ex M. Moustache)
In just 10 years, M. Moustache has become one of the most popular shoe brands for stylish thirty-somethings. But that’s not all! This lovely success story is also (and above all) a beautiful story of friendship at its core, that of the three co-founders: Antoine Vigneron, Guillaume Alcan and Thibault Repelin.
It was in 2012, after meeting at the Leonard de Vinci management school, that the trio founded their brand. Like many designers, it was because they couldn’t find shoes that fit them that they decided to embark on an entrepreneurial adventure, in order to offer “young professionals” comfortable and stylish shoes that can be worn every day of the week, from morning to night.
To please this demanding clientele, the three men opted for an offbeat universe and a surprising brand name. Along with the iconic mustache, the other emblem is a… sheepbecause the animal embodies both “comfort and elegance, chic and casual”.
In just a few years, Mr. Moustache has found rapid success, both with customers and professionals in the sector. Elected Best Men’s Accessories Brand at Who’s Next January 2013it continues its growth through a fundraising in 2015 and a coherent distribution network throughout France. At the same time, it expands its collections to a female audience, who immediately fall under its spell… and even end up becoming the majority!
So, to ensure that its image truly reflects who it is today, the brand is completely changing its identity: in 2024, Mr. Moustache becomes Odaje, a new name thought “like an ode to joy”with an “O” which reminds us that it is “the first circular fashion brand on the footwear market”.
More mature, but no less likeable, Mr. Mustache Odaje has therefore succeeded in its bet, by offering elegant and atypical collections and by being recognized as one of the most likeable brands… in every sense of the word!
Our opinion on Odaje
In terms of comfort, value for money and image, M. Moustache was already one of our favourite shoe brands (on the same level as Jules & Jenn in particular)… There is no reason for that to change with Odaje!
While colorful sneakers are still very present, the collections are now very varied, often more sensible, but always elegant. We can still regret the absence of French manufacturing (if the design is well done in Paris, the shoes are assembled in China and Portugal), but the brand has always been transparent about this.

The best Odaje shoes
Launched in 2016, the Rene unisex sneakers (Renée for women) are still among Mr. Moustache’s best sellers. These white and colorful sneakers, inspired by the 1980s, combine perforated leather with suede and are adorned with a sole [Re]colte designed from recycled shoes. Comfortable, trendy and timeless, these shoes have it all!
Still in a retro spirit, the brand has also developed a range more inspired by running that is not lacking in style. If you don’t want to wear them for your next workout, we recommend them to add color and lightness to your outfits, especially the (vegan) André model, with its pretty mix of materials and textures.
Finally, in a more chic style, these are the boots of all kinds that have seduced us. In a responsible logic, the stocks of the M. Moustache models have been renewed at Odaje, for our greatest pleasure. The nubuck models offer optimal comfort (they look like slippers!), but those in grained leather are not bad at all either!

The brand has paid particular attention to the development of its distribution network and it shows! In addition to its fifteen or so own-name boutiques, Odaje is present at more than 200 retailers throughout France.
