A suspect has been arrested in the murder of 19-year-old Philippine.

The man was arrested in Switzerland on Tuesday, according to our information, confirmed by the prosecutor’s office.

The student’s body was found partially buried in the de Boulogne on Saturday afternoon.

Three days after the discovery in the Bois de Boulogne of the body of Philippine, a 19-year-old student at Paris Dauphine University, a man was arrested in Switzerland, the TF1/LCI police-justice service learned from concordant sources. He is currently in judicial detention in Geneva.

Still according to our information, confirmed by the Paris prosecutor’s office early this evening, the suspect, of Moroccan origin and aged 22, known to the courts, had been convicted in October 2021 for a rape committed in 2019, when he was a minor. He had been released, at the end of his sentence, last June. Since then, he had been subject to an Obligation to leave French territory (OQTF).

According to the prosecution, the suspect was “in an irregular situation on French territory” and had been “released, at the end of his sentence, in June 2024”. “An extradition request will be sent to the Swiss authorities”the prosecution continued.

The Geneva police had not yet responded to AFP’s requests by evening.

According to our information, several Research and Intervention Brigades (BRI) have been searching for traces of the suspect in Haute-Savoie since midday, near the Swiss border.

The student’s body was found partially buried in the Bois de Boulogne on Saturday afternoon. She had been missing since the day before, after having lunch at the Paris-Dauphine university restaurant.
