Midfielder Enzo Zidane (29 years old), eldest son of Zinedine Zidane, is retiring from football. The Spanish daily AS announced on Tuesday that he now wants to concentrate on his family life (he is himself the father of three children) and his extra-sporting career.

Born in 1995 in , Enzo Zidane (named in homage to Enzo Francescoli, his father’s idol) had a modest sporting career after being trained at Castilla, Real Madrid’s training center (2014-2017). Without leaving great memories, he played at Alaves, Lausanne, Rayo Majadahonda, Aves (Portugal), Almeria and even in , at (Ligue 2) in 2021-2022. He signed his last contract the following season at Fuenlabrada. He was also briefly an international U15 Spanish then U19 French.

Enzo Zidane is the eldest of four children: Luca (26 years old), born in Aix-en-Provence and goalkeeper for Granada; Théo (22 years old), born in ; and Elyaz (18 years old), the youngest also born in Marseille. It is the latter, left-back or central defender, who seems to have the brightest future in football since he is currently under contract with Betis Seville and is regularly called up to the French youth teams (U17, U18 and currently U19).
