A fire forced the evacuation of the 15 floors of 1900 rue Désilets, commonly known as “Tour Bardy” in the Maizerets sector of Quebec.
The fire broke out around 11:30 a.m. on a balcony located on the 7th floor of the 83-unit residential building, according to the Quebec Fire Protection Service (SPICQ).
More than 65 firefighters were deployed to evacuate the building and fight the flames.

Two people were taken into care by emergency services and their condition will be assessed.
Around noon, the SPICQ stated that the fire posed a risk of worsening that was unlikely and was on the way to being completely brought under control.
Residents in need can be supported by the Red Cross.
