France Alzheimer Gers and the municipality of Miélan, partners in the organization of the day, brought together more than a dozen local associations to manage and host this friendly meeting.
A very busy day: hiking, gentle walking, judo, gymnastics, traditional dances, village history, pétanque, firefighters’ museum, banda, … Hats off to Générations Mouvement Miélan heavily involved in the material organization of the day. And yet, a salt shaker was missing!
But we must not forget the meaning of this animation: the information and help provided to people suffering from this disease and their caregivers. This is the goal of France Alzheimer Gers thanks to its workshops such as memory cafés, day breaks, and the support of its volunteers.
The signing of the charter “Miélan, a helpful city” by Jean Marc Pinaud, president of France Alzheimer Gers and Jean Loup Arenou, mayor of Miélan, was and will remain a highlight of the day.
The meal prepared by local artisans, Benjamin Vidou, butcher and caterer, and Patrick Ricourt, baker and pastry chef, was greatly appreciated by around a hundred guests, including the occupants of the Miélan independent living residence.
