Philippine’s body was found dead on Saturday in the de Boulogne in . This 19-year-old student at Paris-Dauphine University had disappeared on Friday afternoon, September 20. The Paris prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation for voluntary homicide.

What happened to Philippine? The lifeless body of this young woman was discovered this Saturday, September 21 in the Bois de Boulogne, in the west of Paris. She had not given any news to her relatives since Friday afternoon, after having lunch at the Crous of her university, Paris-Dauphine.

The student had left the establishment, located near the Bois de Boulogne, around 2 p.m.: this was the last time she was seen. She was supposed to go to her parents’ house in in Montigny-le-Brotonneux. When they noticed that their daughter had not arrived, they tried to call her several times. In vain.

It was her sister who was the first to alert the authorities. According to our information, she went to the police station in the 16th arrondissement of Paris on Friday evening, around 11 p.m., to report Philipinne’s disappearance.

• The body discovered on Saturday

Philippine’s phone is last geolocated in the Bois de Boulogne. The young woman’s relatives decide to organize a search there this Saturday in the hope of finding her. The meeting is set for around 3:15 p.m. An hour later, around 4 p.m., a buried body is discovered: it is Philippine.

The police were alerted and the authorities proceeded to remove the body. Philipinne was formally identified “late in the evening” on Saturday, the prosecution said on Sunday.

An autopsy was performed. “The conclusions of this examination, which will have to be confirmed by other examinations and expert reports, have not been communicated at this stage,” the public prosecutor’s office told our colleagues at Le Parisien.

• An investigation opened for “voluntary homicide”

Who could have wanted to harm Philippine? “A priori, the young woman had no reason to go to the back of her university. The RER station, where line C goes towards Yvelines, is on the other side,” notes the regional daily.

An investigation into voluntary homicide was opened by the Paris prosecutor’s office and entrusted to the criminal brigade.

No arrests have been made at this stage, according to a source close to the investigation to BFMTV. The hearings are continuing, while the geolocation of the missing woman’s phone is guiding the investigators’ search, according to relatives.

• A minute of silence this Monday

Paris Dauphine University is in shock and a psychological unit will be set up when classes resume on Monday. “It is with deep sadness that we learned this Saturday, September 21, of the death, in tragic circumstances, of Philippine, a third-year student in economics and financial engineering,” the institution announced this Sunday.

“The Dauphiné community is in mourning following this terrible tragedy. We express our most sincere condolences and our deep solidarity to his family and loved ones,” we can read on the university’s website.

A minute of silence is organized, at the initiative of his comrades, in the hall of the ground floor of the establishment, this Monday, September 23 at 1:30 p.m. “A space for reflection will be set up at the end of this ceremony in the hall of the 3rd floor where everyone will be able to leave messages of support, testimonies or flowers”, specifies the president of the university, El-Mouhoub Mouhoud.
