It must be said that this 6th day of waste collection in the streets of our town, which took place on Saturday morning, as part of the world cleanup day, did not attract the crowds… Of course the weather was not very good and the fairly strong wind was very unpleasant, but still…

That being said, the dozen volunteers (individuals, members of the MJC and the Dépollueurs du 12) who were there at 9:30 a.m. in front of the entrance to the MJC were particularly efficient and motivated, since in the space of an hour and a half, a good thirty bags, after being sorted, were awaiting the weighing verdict: 46 kg in yellow bags (recyclable), 11 kg in black bags (household waste) and 2 kg in miscellaneous (glass and wood), or 5 kg per collector.

This figure speaks for itself on the need for such actions, so that our cities remain clean and pleasant to live in and so that those who do not feel concerned, have a surge both as citizens and as ecologists and commit to a planet to live without waste…

After the weigh-in, Loïc from the Aveyron CPIE intervened, at the request of the MJC (as part of its “MJC Verte” action) to propose a workshop on waste management and selective sorting, a workshop which continued at 2 p.m. at the Costes rouges associative café… Other workshops are scheduled: the first will take place on Tuesday, October 1 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., on the theme of “decoding and food waste”.
