The new minister responsible for relations with Parliament grew up in Dordogne

This Saturday, September 21, 2024, Prime Minister Michel Barnier announced the composition of his government, fifteen days after his appointment to Matignon. In addition to the leading figures of the Republicans such as Annie Genevard in Agriculture or Bruno Retailleau in the Interior, the Prime Minister appointed Nathalie Delattre to the post of Minister responsible for relations with Parliament. The one who has been elected senator in since 2017, grew up in Dordogne and even learned his political trade alongside Yves Guéna.

Nathalie Delattre spent part of her childhood in Dordogne and more precisely in Périgueux. From a father who was a tool salesman and a mother who was a cleaning lady, The new minister of the Barnier Government visited the Laure Gatet high school in PérigueuxA place where she would get a taste of politics and it was at the age of 15 that Nathalie Delattre became involved as an activist alongside Yves Guéna, then departmental president of the RPR.

She holds a general university studies diploma obtained in 1988 from the Institute of Economic and Legal Studies in Périgueux. Her professional career also began in Dordogne. From 1992 to 1993, she was a legal collaborator at the Maison du Bâtiment, des Travaux Publics et des Transporteurs routiers de la Dordogne, without however abandoning her political commitment.

In 2002, Nathalie Delattre stood in the legislative elections in the constituency of Périgueux. under the colours of the UMP and the Radical Party of Jean-Louis Borloo. She qualified for the second round, but failed a week later, collecting 48.7% of the vote against the outgoing deputy, Michel Dasseux (PS).

Nathalie Delattre would leave Dordogne some time later to settle permanently in Gironde. She would be elected municipal councillor of Bordeaux on the list led by the outgoing mayor Alain Juppé. In October 2017, she became senator for Girondea position she will hold until her appointment as Minister for Relations with Parliament.
