On the night of Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 September, two young people were attacked and injured by a man armed with a knife in the Saint-Jean district of Beauvais. Quickly arrested, the suspect was brought before the Senlis criminal unit on Thursday, September 20. At the end of his hearing, he was placed in pretrial detention.
Senlis prosecutor Loïc Abrial said:having opened this Thursday, September 20, 2024 a criminal judicial investigation for the facts of attempted murder against the 30-year-old man who had been in police custody since September 18, 2024 in the premises of the local judicial police service of Beauvais“. That’s not all. Since the suspect was also injured and then hospitalized on the same evening of September 15. The prosecutor thus announces that the judicial investigation is “also for acts of aggravated violence against persons unknown, of which the same individual was the victim“.

For the time being, the motive for the attempted murder has not yet been confirmed by the prosecution.
