Fans of the Marvel series “WandaVision” will remember Agatha Harkness, a witch played by Kathryn Hahn. The success of the character has now earned her a spin-off, “Agatha All Along”, available from September 19, 2024 on Disney+. Stripped of her powers by Wanda Maximoff, Agatha embarks on the Witches’ Road to find them. She is accompanied by four sisters and a mysterious teenager played by Joe Locke, revealed by the LGBTQ+ series “Heartstopper” whose third season begins October 3 on Netflix. Meet this young 20-year-old actor from Manx.

We don’t know the real name or origins of the young man you play in “Agatha All Along.” Did you train yourself to hide the truth?

I’m getting better at it the more interviews I give. At first, I was afraid to open my mouth and drop a spoiler, but I’ve learned to maneuver. It’s an art to dodge questions and provide the right answers.

Your character is gay, like the one you play in “Heartstopper.” Do you fear being pigeonholed into the same roles in the future?

Yes, I’m afraid people will think I’m a one-trick pony. I’d like to play characters whose sexuality isn’t specified and who are more typically masculine. I want to be an actor more than anything and I hope the entertainment industry doesn’t pigeonhole an actor into the same role anymore.

In “Agatha All Along” you play opposite great actresses like Kathryn Hahn and Patti LuPone. Intimidated?

Not really, they’re all very warm. I never feel more comfortable than when I’m around women because I grew up in a very female household. The idea of shooting the series was terrifying because I’ve always dreamed of joining the Marvel universe, but they gave me confidence.

What does the third season of “Heartstopper” have in store for us?

It’s darker because my character, Charlie, is struggling with his mental health. But also sexier because Charlie and his boyfriend, Nick, are growing up and therefore more interested in sex.
