Nintendo Switch 2: the first images would have leaked

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been the center of discussion since its announcement. However, no official information about the console or its release date had yet been released, until a first leak suggested a completely new design.

The potential leak was revealed on the Reddit page GamingLeaksAndRumours, where a user shared the “ second generation model of STP Switch » along with several images and specs. This was then relayed by Wario64 on X/Twitter, who added this updated look of the Switch 2 to the list of potential specs.

Naturally, it’s important to take these leaks with a grain of salt, as no confirmation has been given regarding these specifications or design. However, according to a report from VGC, a source, who was reportedly briefed on the Nintendo Switch 2 console, but has not seen it, explained that ” The images on Reddit match what the company has told partners to expect in terms of design ” This gives an air of legitimacy to these images, even if it does not officially confirm them.

The supposed images show a similar design to the first Switch, but with a USB-C port on the top and a design that appears thinner and sleeker. The stand appears to have evolved to take up a large portion of the back, potentially boosting the device’s durability.

VGC also explained that “ The Switch 2 will include 12GB of RAM (up from 4GB for the original Switch), HDMI 2.1 support, and 256GB of internal storage (up from 32GB) “, which is consistent with a leak from earlier this year. It also matches previous reports about the Switch 2’s design, including the 8-inch screen, though these are all potential leaks and not confirmed by Nintendo.
